Partial Wraps in Windsor

Partial wraps: the right panels.

A black roof, a satin hood, blacked-out mirrors or a stripe down the side. Small changes that make a factory car look like it was ordered that way.

A partial wrap covers chosen panels or areas rather than the whole vehicle. The classic is a gloss black roof on a light car, but hoods, mirrors, spoilers, pillars, rocker panels and bumper sections all work. It is quicker and cheaper than a full wrap and just as reversible.

Matching and contrast

Contrast is easy: gloss black on white, satin black on grey, a colour-shift roof on a dark car. Matching an existing paint colour with film is harder and we will say so; film comes in fixed colours and a near-miss looks worse than an honest contrast.

Edges

The difference between a good partial wrap and a cheap one is where the edge lands. Wherever possible we wrap into a seam, under a trim piece, or around a panel edge so there is no line to catch dirt or lift. That sometimes means removing a roof rail or a mirror cap; it is worth it.

What’s included

  • Help choosing which panels change the look most on your specific car
  • Decontamination of the panels being wrapped
  • Trim or hardware removed where it gives a clean, tucked edge rather than a visible seam
  • Cast film colour-matched or contrasted to your paint, edges post-heated
  • A walk-around at pick-up and the same care sheet as a full wrap

Good for

  • Two-tone looks: black or carbon-look roofs, hoods and mirrors
  • Refreshing a single faded or scratched panel without a respray
  • Accent stripes and pillar blackouts
  • Testing a finish before committing to a full wrap

Questions we get asked

Can you wrap just the roof?

Yes. A gloss or satin black roof is the most common partial wrap we do, often with the mirrors and spoiler to match.

Will a partial wrap match my paint exactly?

Film colours are fixed, so an exact paint match is unlikely. Contrast panels are the better plan; we will show you samples against your car.

How long does a partial wrap take?

Usually a day or less for a roof, hood or mirrors. Multiple panels or a full stripe package may take longer.
